Renewable Heat Incentive RHI

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was launched in November 2011 with a scheme for the commercial sector that provides payments to industry, businesses and public sector organisations.

The RHI pays those that generate and use renewable energy to heat their buildings. Through increasing the generation of heat from renewable energy sources (rather than fossil fuels), the RHI will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet targets for minimising climate change.

The Government aims to expand the existing scheme to cover additional technologies and will offer a domestic support tariff for individual households. The domestic announcement has now been confirmed and details will finally be released in summer 2013 the scheme will commence payments from spring 2014.

Biomass Solutions can advise on the RHI and recommend biomass boilers for both domestic and commercial applications.
